Delicately Campaigning for a Star now Departed

Heath Ledger R.I.P.

Nolan, "He will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten."

Any thoughts on the article (it was homework for those who forgot)

  1. i agree, heath ledger's oscar performance didn't have to be campaigned for. Ledger's death goes down in pop. culture and hollywood history. His acting was tremendous, i don't think any body could of done it better. i think the Dark Knight is an amazing movie but was not shocked when it didn't get an oscar for best picture. I really believe that Ledger's performance with or without his death is oscar material. The scene when he puts his head out the window and laughs into the wind, gave me the chills and still does. His performance was like no other, i believe he was a tremedous actor.

  2. i do have to say, Christopher Nolan did a great job with this. Nolan should be in charge of the next batman movie. the real question is, did this franchise break its peak to early?

  4. this was a brilliantly sourced article. it brought up facts about how it is so difficult to solidify a performance after death. i think the studio did the right thing as to not campaign for his oscar bid. The Dark Knight has grossed more than ever expected, and like the artcle said, "slapping a sticker" on it will not affect its sales. i think that the movie is great because of heath, and the academt recognizes that. His perfermance speaks for what he can literally not say.

  5. Darrell you stole the words right out of my mouth. The studio did the right thing in not pushing for Heath. His performance was amazing but should not be pushed higher up just because he died. Costal you also make a well apparent point. I will continue tonight....
