Let the Right One In

I just wanted to say that I looooooove this movie so far. I was reading about it yesterday online and it actually was nominated for 52 awards and won 43 of them! Thank you Costal for getting it.

  3. there are multiple theories pertaining to the relationship between eli and oskar.

    *spoiler*

the one which seems to make a lot of sense to me is that eli is 'breeding' oskar to become someone else who can supply her with blood, much like hakan did before he got himself caught. eli is actually just being manipulative.

but there are other ideas about the movie involving less depressing points of view so to each their own

  5. NO JAMES!
    They're in love, it's a happy
    ending.
I don't want to hear anything morbid like that.

  6. I appreciated the storytime today! Of course I think there was a gap I missed in between what we saw on wednesday and the epic pool scene..which was extremely disturbing btw. I loved the movie though!

  7. I loved the movie. But what would happen to Oskar and Eli. If Oskar is turned into a vampire, then he'll eventually grow up. As James said, will he just become like Hakan when he grows up. I think everyone would like to think they live happily ever after running around as little vampire children. Who knows? Maybe they do.

  8. Well...thats the thing freaky Armani...Haken was her father, which she means that her vampire life span was about 50 years. There is also that scene in which her real face is revealed that proves this. James' assesment that Oskar will be forced into a life of servitude is intriguing, but he doesn't have much else going for him. Choosing to leave with Eli is the equivalent of Keanu choosing the red pill (or was it blue?), no?

  9. I meant to say "that's the freaky thing, Armani." Not "That's the thing freaky Armani." But both are applicable.

  10. i actually really liked that movie. although i didn't feel that Eli was being manipulative. i think they just wanted to be together. who knows in the end she might ending up turning Oska into a vampire, they just aren't ready for it yet.
