The Puppyman

I was going to get all "Costal", on this movie and write a insanely awesome critique about how bad it was, but then after about twenty minutes into writing it I realized that there was no need for all those words to illustrate one point.
This is a terrible movie!
By the end of the movie, I was praying that the werewolf came out the screen and bit me, transforming me into a werewolf, because only a fellow half human, half wolf hybrid could enjoy such a horrible film....

  1. I really didn't find it horrible. I feel critics are giving it more gruff then they should. Richard Roeper, who I align with most when it comes to critics, gave it a B+. I would give it just a B. Was it amazing? No. But it wasn't terrible. The acting was great along with the cinematography. The story was what should be expected. The dialogue was lacking a bit and some of the effects weren't always used at the best of times. Ultimately the wolf fight at the end was the weak point of the story, but was easy to look past. In my opinion it's up to par with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (Robert De Niro) and Bram Stoker's Dracula (Gary Oldman). Neither are amazing works of art but nice rehashes for the present day. Down the line, like stories such as The Christmas Carol and Sherlock Holmes, there will be yet another remake and maybe that one will be the perfection it has the potential to be. As most horror movies go, Wolfman is just a B. Not great but not a waste of time.

  2. I haven't had a chance to see 'The Wolfman' yet, but I'm excited for it.
But given the film's production history, it's a miracle it's not a total mess. It's been delayed for over 2 years, went through 2 directors, re-writes, re-shoots, they replaced Danny Elfman's score, and then re-inserted it at the last minute and so much more.
The drama behind the scenes on it was amazing, and I didn't think it'd ever get released.
I've heard some mixed things about it, but more positive than negative. I think it's incredible it's had this reaction, since many were convinced the picture would turn out to be a disaster with all the behind the scenes tinkering.
I'm still really looking forward to it, since it's got a great cast and looks pretty slick.
It'll have to wait till after "Shutter Island" and "The Crazies" though.
