It's actually pretty nice - the RED lowered some barriers for cinema-quality video, but a good setup will still cost almost $40K. The 5D with an external audio recorder, tripod, and a good set of prime lenses will run under $6,000 - this is a big deal for independent filmmakers, especially when 24p is added to it in the next firmware update.
