UP

This movie, i thought was by far one of Pixar's best movies. So much real emotion for a kids movie, i'm not going to lie i cried 3 times. The land scape they created of Paradise falls was beautiful but you cant go wrong with a Pixar landscape or setting. And most of all the story line is amazingly done. The sadness this oldman possesses and his will to fulfill a promise he finally has time to complete, that suddenly leads to an adventure like no other. This movie is truly touching. The trailer gave me no idea what Up had in store for us. If you havent watched this beautiful masterpiece, GO WATCH IT
for me the line up for pixar movies is
1. Toy Story
2. Up
3.Wall-E
By the WAY I DONT LOOK LIKE THE FAT ASIAN KID

  1. Started off great then slid down a slide to crappy kids movie jokes and pratfalls. I appreciated the beginning but then it felt like the movie just wanted to be over. There was no reason for the later half of the movie because there was no real reason to care. All the Macguffins were weak. A bird, getting the house next to the water fall in three days... There was the saving the kid part but by that point I had lost interest in his character because I just spent 20 minutes watching him whine and cry while they walked through the jungle. I still stand by my thought that Ratatouille is my favorite (for some reason) followed by The Incredibles. I just can't say Up was a movie that really made me care once the adventure started and as a major fan of the adventure genre, you need to keep your audience wrapped in the moment, not sitting there watching a little boy whine and an old man grumble for 10 minutes about a talking dog and a big colorful bird.

  3. i thought this movie was beautiful! i also cried 3+ times. Dug was so cute, he was my favorite part of this film and I loved the way he spoke, I feel like what he said and what the other dogs were saying are things that REAL dogs would say! Like...
"I just met you, but I love you!" and
    "I like you temporarily"
...Awwwww! How could you not love them?? Dug reminded me of my dog, pudgy body and lil' legs... so so happy.

Doesn't Zander kind of look like that little asian boy scout??

  5. Reading Paul critique children's movies is like watching the Incredible Hulk do needlework...somehow the sensibility is off, and you just get the notion that he's not playing to his strength...than said, I tend to agree that Up seemed like Pixar-lite...but I understand Zander's feelings, because he LOVES pixar, and when you love something, you tend to love its latest incarnation the bestest of all...so I'll forgive him for ranking Up above Wall-E! Michael Jackson is rolling in his grave...sorry just wanted to be the first to say that.

  6. I accept that Costal but if I don't put my thoughts about Pixar on this board, how will discussions ever start? The Pixar threads would all be about how cute, funny, and perfect the movies were. The most interesting part would be how everyone ranks the new movie compared to the others.

BTW- I didn't cry... I thought it was daring and as I said I loved the first part of the film... I did think it might be somewhat awkward for the parents when the kids ask what happened... but then there were talking dogs, Asian kids and a giant birds to wipe their minds of any real golden points of the film.
