  2. Cassie - Boxes was an awesome find! It reminds me of how chess influenced Kubrick's childhood - instilling in him analytical and organizational skills which allowed him to become a perfect director. He is always looking for the right shot too - from his early photographic work. His depth of research will never be overcome. Kubrick Rules!

  5. Kubrick was nuts, there is no doubt about that, but look at the end results from his madness. He's brilliant. He wanted perfection with every shot and scene he made. Yes, he was a little obsessed with perfection, but every director/artist becomes a little crazy when they are trying to make a masterpiece. To Kubrick, his films are art and he only wants them to be made with every small detail perfected and refined. That's what the boxes were for. They kept everything for his movies organized and safe if he ever needs to go back to it and there is nothing wrong with trying to be tidy. :)

  6. Stanley Kubrick was pretentious and incredibly anal.
He was also completely brilliant and flat out fantastic in every project he set out to do.
    This documentary was fascinating,
    & very revealing.
Sure, Kubrick was a little crazy, but he was a genius, so it only makes sense. His precision and dedication, and endless time & effort put into the making of his films proves that he is one of the greatest directors who ever, or will ever, lived.
I mean, I don't love all Kubrick films, but I respect his work 100%. Everything he created was so unique & breathtaking, that even if I didn't care for it overall, I still was jaw-dropped by its technical aspects.

    Good find, Aluminum Monster!

  7. An awesome find, Cass!? It was wierd and reminding me of a show on HGTV when this creepy woman was a pack rat and saved EVERYTHING in containers. To separate fan letters from the good, the bad, and the deadly is more than good organizational skills. It's just weird. He was a perfectionist, fine. But still, get a storage unit and throw your boxes in there and keep them away. It just doesn't even seem healthy to live like that...as much of a perfectionist as he was, this organizing style seems far from perfect.
