All Election's Eve

I decided to head in a different direction than Alex...but the more, the merrier....

I was wondering who your favorite film presidents were....here's a list of mine, in no particular order....

1. President Andrew Shepherd, Michael Douglas, The American President

2. President Jack Marshall, Harrison Ford, Air Force One

3. President Merkin Muffley, Peter Sellers, Dr. Strangelove

4. Dave Kovic as President Bill Mitchell, Kevin Kline, Dave

5. President Thomas J. Whitmore, Bill Pullman, Independence Day

  1. Oh boy. Harrison Ford all the way. I don't think there was a better, more hard core President in the movies. No other "Movie President" has come close.

  2. Ok, since a lot of the totally awesome ones are already taken, I'll just say people who aren't mentioned here already. I had to make it just be fictional presidents so books, video games, and tv shows are included because I couldn't come up with many strictly film characters that could compare to Harrison Ford.

    1. Zaphod Beeblebrox- Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
    2. Nathan Petrelli- Heroes
    3. President Skroob- Spaceballs
    4. George Sears/Solidus Snake- Metal Gear Solid
    5. Robert Kelley- X-men (in the film he was only Senator, but in some alternate realities of the comics he does become president.)
    6. Winston Noble- Fahrenheit 451
    7. President Ulysses Fitzgerald Milhous Pinky (Ladybird to his Friends)- Pinky and the Brain
    8. Steve Rogers- Captain America
    9. Thomas J. Whitmore- Independence Day
    10. The unnamed president from Austin Powers.

I guess only two of those are strictly "movie" presidents, but those are my top fictional presidents.

  3. Harison Ford is a really good, but I have to say Whitmor from Independence Day is probably my most personal favorite. It's tough decision.

*FILM* presidents. Books/VG/Comics/TV shows don't count. And also, no other fictional or non-fictional character could ever beat Harrison Ford. Ever.

  5. I have to go with Dave Kovic as President Bill Mitchell, Kevin Kline, Dave!

That is my favorite. Nothing beats the budget meeting where he eliminates wasteful spending!

  6. But Lauren, everything crosses over now, almost all mediums are either already converted to films or will soon enough be. Other than Pinky and the Brain and Heroes (And knowing Hollywood that will probably change soon enough) all of these, while not all originally films, either have been made into films or have films in the works.

  10. I'm going with Harrison Ford too. He'd make a better president at this point then both the candidates we already have.

  12. Bill Pullman from Indepence day HANDS DOWN!!!! HE KILLED ALIENS!!!!! i've never heard a more epic speach than his!!!!

"Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"

Harrison Ford is overrated as a president!!!

  14. Harrison Ford was a pretty good president in Air Force One. I just like the thought of Han Solo as commander-in-chief.
