okay, this might sound bad, but can anybody give me some advice on how to start this criticism? I didnt do so well on the last one, and i am totally suffering from writers block...

  1. Use the Roger Ebert review as an example... It helped me get started...

  2. See I don't have writer's block, I just don't think I'm doing it right. Costal can you give a little explanation please? I'm supposed to critique the dialogue, but I'm not really sure how to do that.

Use this web site to examine the actual screenplay:

It will help refresh the dialogue for you.

  4. Hey guys. You have to get into that journalistic style of writing. What you've been writing for years probably doesn't exactly match what you have to now. Two suggestions I would make are use visuals in your openings and don't try to emulate Roger Ebert's wit... you can't do that until you've written tons of these things. Good luck everyone. And make sure you do your rewrites.

  6. Erin: Pick out some selections from the dialogue that you think are meaningful, use that as a foundation for your criticism. Be creative with it, don't worry so much just give a good go!
