Speaking of The Wizard Of Oz...

Anyone see the Thanksgiving day parade and how bad the performance was of the Wizard of Oz cast?

I wanted to punch a small child.

Anyone else feel differently or the same?

  5. I actually missed both the "In the Heights" performance and the fosters float due to work. In fact I would have left more details about the Oz performance if I wasn't leaving for work in two minutes

In a sum of it, Dorothy’s fake wig connected to her face, leaving an awful fake flap of skin pushing out over her eye brow. Of course the cameras zoomed right in on her while she sang "Over the Rainbow".

Her costume wasn't the only one; all three of our most loved characters had some sort of hideous change to their costumes which made them almost unrecognizable. Not to mention it looked like the costume designer got them from Party City or a lesser known costume store that was a bit cheaper.

The biggest kick in the teeth though was when the rest of the cast joined them in singing and dancing, and THEY WEREN'T EVEN MUCHKINS! They were normal people. At least get kids to do that part, not 5'7" adults who are clearly not munchkins.

I hate parades anyway. Fireworks are better.

  6. Okay, number one - PARADES ARE 10000 TIMES BETTER THAN FIREWORKS

Number two - I don't think there are many munkin-y people out there who are looking for a job on broadway, so they probably had to do what they could with the people they had. Same goes with the costumes.

And number three - The Wiz is better anyway. :b

  7. Lauren, ridiculous comment on all accounts:

    1. Parades do rock more than fireworks...I agree here.

    2. Ummmm....there are probably millions of little people looking to make it on broadway. As little people, they exist to bring joy to the lives of not so little people through their happy jigs and sound comedic gesturing.

    3. The Wiz is soooooo poor.

"Parade or fireworks, which do you go to? Fireworks, of course. I don't even have a joke for the moron that yells 'PARADE.' 'I WOULD GO TO A PARADE I'M HERE ALONE BECAUSE I MAKE HORRIBLE DECISIONS.'"

  9. they could at least picked children.... lord knows how many parents want their child to be in a parade for thanksgiving. Not to mention their child could be in an all time "childrens classic" float (or whatever they had. I didn't even see)

how about fairs? Can we agree that fairs are indeed the middle ground to fireworks and parades? Or at least something we all can agree are enjoyable?

  10. Fairs... they can be kinda gross, depending on which ones you go to. :/

Parades are better only because they last longer than fireworks and there's more to look at. "Oh, pretty lights. Oh, it's over."
